Like most people, when I visited Acadia National Park, I was captured by the awesome view of mountains, clouds, sea, islands and lovely summer foliage. I wanted to create a painting to capture the scene.
For this painting, I started with a pink-toned canvas for a warm undertone that would ultimately enhance the colors of the wildflowers. Then, I sketched the values on paper, mixed the colors, and applied the paint, filming the process so you could see it all come together. The different stages of the painting are available below.
