Two years in a row, these collectors have returned from Mainsail to bring another piece home.
Discovered At Mainsail
Edye and Madelyn had been perusing the maze of talent at Mainsail Art Festival for a piece that spoke to them for hours. Booth after booth, they sought that elusive spark of inspiration. Yet, as the hours passed and fatigue began to set in, "the one" remained elusive.
My booth was last on their list, and they were getting ready to call it a day. Lucky for me, they pressed on. As they rounded the corner to my space, they immediately perked up as they saw the painting for the first time, exclaiming with all the enthusiasm every artist dreams of, "Oh my God, THAT IS IT!"
About the Work
My paintings are inspired by the shifting skies, quiet waterways, and luminous horizons of the Gulf Coast.
I’m drawn to moments that feel both fleeting and familiar—sunrise over soft water, the hush of evening light, or the stillness just before weather moves in.
Many collectors choose these works to anchor a room and bring a sense of calm and cohesion to their space.
Anne Zimmerman Briand is a contemporary landscape painter known for expressive coastal paintings that capture the movement of water, sky, and changing light. Working both outdoors and in the studio, she develops large-scale paintings inspired by the atmosphere and open horizon of the Gulf Coast.
