Your Home Collection Concept Development

Based on our discussions and research, I’ve developed a recommended direction for your collection that captures the character and spirit of Wayzata through three distinct painted experiences.

These concept studies establish composition, color and overall feeling. The paintings will continue to evolve as I translate these ideas onto the full-size canvases.

Kitchen Concept: Wayzata Lake Life

  • A lively summer view of the Wayzata lakeshore, anchored by the historic train depot in the lower left foreground, with boat activity on the water and the Minneapolis skyline faintly visible on the distant horizon. An expansive blue sky and bustling marina bring energy to the composition, with bright blues, mint, lavender and fresh summer greens carrying through the palette.

Bedroom Concept: Expansive Lake Sunset

  • A quieter, more atmospheric view of the lake at sunset. Open water and the sweeping shoreline create an expansive vista, while soft pink, lavender, blue and warm golden light introduce a sense of serenity within the collection.

Dining Room Concept: Last Light on the Water

Artwork Size: 30 x 34 Inches

  • A more intimate view of sailboats moving across the lake beneath an expressive evening sky. Soft blue-grays, lavender and touches of warm coral create a quieter, moodier palette, bringing the changing light and peaceful rhythm of the lake into the dining room.

    These studies establish the composition, palette and overall feeling for each painting. Once we've confirmed these directions, I'll begin translating them onto the full-scale canvases, allowing the paintings to continue evolving through the painting process.
