Artwork Recommendations for Your Wayzata Residence

Greg & Suzanne,

Thank you for inviting me to create artwork for your new home. After reflecting on our conversations and reviewing the photographs of your spaces and local landscape, I've developed a collection plan for you.

My vision is to create three original paintings that feel connected through Wayzata's landscapes, a shared palette, atmosphere, and light, while allowing each space to have its own distinct character.

This proposal outlines my recommended artwork sizes and the creative process we'll follow together. If you have requests for different sizes or scenes, I'd be happy to incorporate. Once you are ready to move forward, I'll begin developing concepts for each painting.

Recommended Artwork Sizes

Room Recommended Size
Kitchen 60 × 36 inches
Dining Room 30 × 34 inches
Primary Bedroom 48 × 30 inches

Kitchen

Recommended Artwork: 60 × 36 Original Oil Painting

  • As the hub of the home, the kitchen painting will be designed to reflect the tone of the space while maintaining a comfortable relationship with the surrounding architecture. Viewed from the kitchen and beyond, it will serve as the primary focal point of your collection while allowing generous breathing room within the space.
    .

Inspiration: Summer skies, and the vibrant beauty of lakeside living.

Dining Room

Recommended Artwork: 30 x 34 Original Oil Painting

  • The dining room painting should feel timeless and atmospheric, complementing the room’s warm wood tones while serving as a calm, sophisticated focal point. Positioned between the buffet lamps, its vertical format contrasts with the long buffet below, creating balance, visual rhythm, and an elegant upward draw.

    .

Inspiration: Soft atmospheric light, serenity, warmth, gentle breezes or still, quiet air.

Primary Bedroom

Recommended Artwork: 48 × 30 Original Oil Painting

  • This painting will be designed to bring a sense of refuge, serenity and peace into the bedroom while also bringing balance between the fireplace and surrounding cabinetry, giving the artwork a strong presence without overwhelming the quiet simplicity of the space.

    .

Inspiration: The peaceful beauty of the lake —expansive skies, soft clouds, gentle light, calm.

Process & Timeline

1 — Confirm the Collection
We'll review the recommended artwork sizes together and make any refinements needed. Once the collection is confirmed, I'll send a simple commission agreement. Your project is reserved upon receipt of the signed agreement and commission deposit.

2 — Collection Design
Using everything we've discussed, I'll develop concepts for each painting, including composition, palette, and atmosphere. I'll present the collection concepts for your review and approval before painting begins.

3 — Studio Painting
Once the concepts are approved, I'll begin painting all three works concurrently, allowing the collection to evolve together through a shared palette, atmosphere, and visual rhythm.

4 — Finishing & Delivery
Each painting will be professionally varnished and prepared for crating and shipment. If desired, we'll finalize framing before delivery.

Estimated Timeline
Approximately 12–16 weeks from approval of the collection concepts.

Getting Started

Once you are ready to move forward, I'll send a commission agreement outlining the project scope, timeline, and payment schedule.

Upon receipt of the signed agreement and commission deposit, I'll begin concept development.

Thank you again for considering me for this special project. I look forward to creating a collection that reflects your home, your lives, and the places that inspire you.

Warmly,

Anne Zimmerman Briand
